The "Problem-Solver’s" Constraint Menu

This is the cornerstone tool for a CLA coach. Instead of a book of drills, it's a "menu" of solutions.

  • What it is: A categorized PDF guide where coaches look up the problem their team is having, and it provides a list of specific constraints to apply to a scrimmage to fix it.

  • How it works:

    • Problem Section: "Team is over-dribbling and missing open cutters."

    • Constraint Solutions: 1) Offense limited to 2 dribbles maximum per touch. 2) Points only count if the assist came from the paint. 3) Must complete 3 passes before shooting.

  • Why it’s "Reformation": It stops the coach from thinking, "What drill do I run?" and trains them to think, "How do I design the environment so the game teaches the solution?"

The "Cues & Choices" Player Self-Reflection Worksheet

If you want to reform the brain of the player, you need tools that engage them off the court.

  • What it is: A simple, one-page worksheet coaches can give to players after a game or hard practice, or use during film sessions.

  • How it works: It doesn't ask about technique ("Did I follow through?"). It asks about perception.

    • Question example: "Think of a turnover you had today. What 'cue' did the defense show you that you might have misread?"

    • Question example: "Describe a moment today where you saw a 2v1 advantage develop. What decision did you make to exploit it?"

  • Why it’s "Reformation": It trains the player's brain to value perception over appearance, reinforcing the on-court work you are doing.

The "Reformation Manifesto: Drills vs. Decisions" Whitepaper

This is your foundational document. It's the "Trojan Horse" piece that explains the why.

  • What it is: A sharply written, professional PDF that scientifically and philosophically dismantles traditional drill culture and presents the CLA alternative.

  • How it works: It uses side-by-side comparisons: "Old Way: 3-Man Weave (Looks clean, teaches zero decisions, zero defense)" vs. "New Way: 3v2 Continuous Transition (Looks messy, teaches advantage recognition, constant decision making)." It touches lightly on the "Renewed Mind" concept of challenging established patterns.

  • Why it’s "Reformation": It provides the intellectual ammunition a coach needs to defend this new approach to parents, athletic directors, or players who question why practice looks different.
